The Sam Patch and Riverie are operated by Corn Hill Waterfront and Navigation Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting the community and visitors to Rochester’s historic waterways through authentic guided boat experiences and educational programs.

Whether they come from next door or around the world, most everyone has heard of the Erie Canal. The opportunity to cruise along the canal and travel through a lock in a replica canal boat continues to be an exciting and novel experience, and a powerful attraction for visitors from every state and dozens of foreign countries.

In continuous operation for 30 years, Corn Hill Navigation’s mission is to foster the appreciation, improvement, and sustainability of the Erie Canal and Genesee River through education, awareness, and enjoyment. In 2019, more than 15,000 passengers from all 50 states and 57 foreign countries experienced the Canal and River aboard the Sam Patch, including 2,300 students from schools across the Rochester region.
